SURKHET: One person died, and six others were injured when a bus and a truck collided in Surkhet on Thursday.
The bus traveling from Nepalgunj to Surkhet collided with the truck coming from the opposite direction at Sattari in Bheriganga Rural Municipality on Ratna Highway.
The deceased has been identified as the driver of the truck, Hira Pun (31), of Gurans Rural Municipality-1 of Dailekh.
According to Inspector Wakil Sunar, the chief of the District Traffic Police Office, Surkhet, Pun succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the Karnali Provincial Hospital.
The injured are receiving treatment at Maya Nursing Home and the provincial hospital.
