KATHMANDU: Two youths died during a clash between youths preparing for the Korean language examination under the Employment Promotion Scheme (EPS) and the police at Balkumari, Lalitpur, on Friday.
According to DIG Kuber Kadayat, the spokesperson for Nepal Police, the two youths died while undergoing treatment.
The deceased have been identified as Sujan Rawat (23) of Dailekh and Birendra Shah (21) of Doti, he added.
Rawat died at Kist Medica College and Teaching Hospital, while Shah breathed his last at Patan Hospital.
The protesting youths, who had failed the shipbuilding skill examination, gathered around the EPS Division on Friday morning, demanding a re-examination.
During the protest, the youth also set fire to the vehicle of Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Development, Prakash Jwala.
Meanwhile, police have arrested 57 protesting youths.
