Oli visits Unified Socialist party office in Aloknagar

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli visited and inspected the central office of the CPN (Unified Socialist) in Aloknagar, which was set ablaze during Friday’s pro-monarchy protest.

Oli, who also serves as the chairperson of CPN-UML, assessed the damage and gathered details about the incident, marking his first-ever visit to the Unified Socialist office.

The Unified Socialist was formed in 2021 by leaders, including Madhav Kumar Nepal, who split from UML due to dissatisfaction with Oli’s leadership. Since the split, Oli has maintained a frosty relationship with the party and its leaders.
Unified Socialist Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal, General Secretary Ghana Shyam Bhusal, and Senior Leader Jhala Nath Khanal briefed Oli on the extent of the damage caused by the fire. CPN (Maoist Center) Senior Vice Chairperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha and other party leaders were also present during the inspection.
