KATHMANDU: The establishment faction of the CPN-UML, led by outgoing Chairperson KP Sharma Oli, has finalized its candidates for the position of office-bearers in the party’s Central Committee.
According to leaders close to Oli, Oli has decided to field Bishnu Poudel, Ram Bahadur Thapa, Guru Baral, Prithvi Subba Gurung, and Pradeep Gyawali as candidates for vice chairpersons.
Poduel and Thapa were vice chairpersons in the outgoing Central Committee of the party, while Gyawali and Gurung were deputy general secretaries.
Oli has decided to repeat Shankar Pokahrel for the post of General Secretary.
Similarly, Bishnu Rimal, Raghuvir Mahaseth, and Bhanubhakta Dhakal are likely candidates for the post of deputy general secretary from Oli’s panel.
Likewise, Lekhraj Bhatta, Chhabilal Bishwakarma, Padma Aryal, Khagaraj Adhikari, Sherdhan Rai, Yamlal Kandel, Hikmat Karki, Mahesh Basnet and Jwalakumari Sah are the candidates for the position of secretary. Bhatta, Bishwarkarma nd Aryal were secretaries in the outgoing committee.
As per the election program published by the party, candidates have ot file nominations by 1:30 pm.
