KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has called for an impartial investigation into the property holdings of all individuals, including himself, who are under suspicion. He claimed that he has never engaged in corruption.
Speaking at an interaction with editors organized in Kathmandu on Sunday, Oli said that he has not committed even a single rupee of corruption and has always stood firmly in favor of good governance. Oli added that he is ready to have his property thoroughly investigated.
The former prime minister also reiterated that a peaceful movement led by the Gen Z group, which had raised issues of good governance, curbing corruption and regulating social media, was infiltrated by disruptive elements.
“I do not act out of impulse or anger; I want the truth to prevail,” Oli said. “I have always remained loyal to the nation and the people, believing that every citizen deserves a dignified life, and that prosperity, equality and peace must prevail in the country. I will never stray from the values of truth.”
Oli also said that he and his party would always stand unwaveringly for peace, justice and democracy, without making compromises.”
Expressing concern over the lack of a conducive environment for elections, Oli reiterated that his party supports the reinstatement of the dissolved House of Representatives.
