NWPP’s Shahi elected chair of Tilagufa-4

KATHMANDU: Khadka Raj Shahi of Nepal Workers and Peasants Party has been elected as the chairperson of Ward-4 of Tilagufa Municipality of Kalikot district.

In the by-election held on Sunday, Shahi received 143 votes. His closest contender, Naishobha of CPN (Maoist Center), scored 115 votes.

CPN (Unified Socialist) had supported Maoist Center’s candidate in the by-election. CPN-UML’s Ain Bahadur Shahi and Pailan Bahdaur Shahi of the Nepali Congress got 78 and 49 votes, respectively.

Similarly, Gogan Bahadur Shahi of Rastriya Prajatrantra Party (RPP) and Gagan Bam of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) received 17 and 5 votes, respectively.

A total of 411 votes were cast in the by-election.
