POKHARA: The Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) has joined hands with the Pokhara Metropolitan City (PMC) to organize the 22nd edition of the Pulsar NSJF Sport Awards in Pokhara on September 14.
NSJF President Niranjan Adhikari and Pokhara Mayor Dhanraj Acharya signed an agreement to this end in Pokhara on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Acharya said Pokhara, which is the tourism capital of Nepal, is also a growing hub for sports in Nepal. “The decision to host the NSJF Sport Awards in Pokhara sends a strong message that cities outside the capital are equally capable of organising high-profile award ceremonies,” Acharya said. “This is an opportunity for Pokhara.”
Acharya said the event aligns with the ongoing Pokhara Visit Year 2025 tourism promotional campaign.
Similarly, NSJF President Nirajan Adhikari said NSJF is organizing the Sport Awards outside Kathmandu for the first time with the strong support of the PMC. He said the event will contribute significantly to the promotion of both sports and tourism in Pokhara.
According to NSJF General Secretary Anjan Khadka, the award ceremony—scheduled to take place at the Pokhara Event Centre—will honour athletes and sports personalities in 10 categories.
Awards will be given away in different categories like Male Player of the Year, Female Player of the Year, Youth Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, People’s Choice Award, Para-Athlete Recognition, Team of the Year, Special Award, Lifetime Achievement Award and Asian Sports Journalist Award.
