KATHMANDU: The eight franchises of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) were allotted their marquee players through a lucky draw in Kathmandu on Saturday.
National team captain Rohit Kumar Paudel was assigned to Team Lumbini, while Karan KC went to Team Kathmandu. Kushal Bhurtel and Kushal Malla were allotted to Team Pokhara and Team Chitwan, respectively.
Similarly, Sandeep Lamichhane and Aasif Sheikh were drawn by Team Biratnagar and Team Janakpur, while Sompal Kami went to Team Karnali and Dipendra Singh Airee to his home team, Team Sudurpashchim.
According to CAN, the marquee players will earn a minimum salary of Rs 2 million.
Earlier, CAN completed the auction for the eight teams. Team Pokhara fetched the highest bid at Rs 35.7 million, while Karnali was sold for the lowest price of Rs 11.17 million.
The inaugural season of the NPL will take place from November 30 to December 21.
