KATHMANDU: The second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), a city franchise-based T20 tournament, will be held in Kathmandu from November 17 to December 13.
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced the dates in a press statement on Thursday.
All matches will be played at the TU International Cricket Stadium in Kathmandu, which is currently being upgraded with a parapet and floodlights. CAN has already conducted a mini auction of players for the NPL.
The NPL features eight city-based franchises: Biratnagar Kings, Janakpur Bolts, Kathmandu Gurkhas, Pokhara Avengers, Chitwan Rhinos, Lumbini Lions, Karnali Yaks, and Sudurpashchim Royals.
Janakpur Bolts won the inaugural edition, defeating Sudurpashchim Royals by five wickets.
As per the tournament format, each team will play the others once in a round-robin format. The top four teams after the league stage advance to the playoffs, which include two qualifiers and an eliminator.
