NPC vice chair, member take oath of office

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki administered the oath of office and secrecy to newly appointed National Planning Commission (NPC) Vice Chairperson Dr Prakash Kumar Shrestha and Member Prof Dr Suniti Shrestha (Hada).

The Cabinet meeting on December 15 had made the appointments.

Chief Secretary Suman Raj Aryal, Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Raj Kumar Shrestha, NPC Members, and NPC Secretary Rabi Lal Pant, among others, were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Karki congratulated the newly appointed officials and extended her best wishes for their tenure. She instructed them to undertake a thorough assessment of the country’s situation and formulate action plans in line with the aspirations of Gen Z youths.

“We have entrusted you with this responsibility as experts. You are well aware of the country’s situation. You should move forward by taking this reality into account,” the Prime Minister said.

She added that the NPC’s plans and programs should reflect the spirit of the Gen Z movement of September 8 and 9.
