
KATHMANDU: Nepal Police Club (NPC) has lifted the PM Cup National Men’s ODI Cricket Championship for the second consecutive time by defeating Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) by six wickets in the final on Saturday.
Batting first at the Siddhartha Cricket Ground in Bhairahawa, NPC Police successfully chased the target of 155 runs set by TAC in 25.2 overs, losing four wickets.
Kushal Bhurtel scored 61 runs off 70 balls for NPC, while Amit Shrestha scored 39 and Dilip Nath remained unbeaten on 31.
Shahbaz Alam took three wickets for TAC, while Naren Saud claimed one.
Earlier, TAC was bowled out for 154 runs in 43 overs. Basir Ahmed top-scored with an unbeaten 86 off 104 balls. Captain Binod Bhandari scored 29, while Bivek Yadav contributed 11.
Karan KC and Sagar Dhakal took three wickets each for NPC, while Captain Dipendra Singh Airee claimed two, and Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi and Gulshan Kumar Jha had a wicket each to their names.
This is Police’s fourth overall championship title. They previously won jointly with Army in 2017 and individually in 2019 and 2024.
