KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that it won’t be appropriate to arrest someone for burning a photo.
Writing a post on his social media page on Sunday, Today (Sunday), Dahal added that there are various forms of protest in democracy. “Arresting someone just for burning a photo can not be justified,” Dahal wrote.
The Maoist Center chairperson was referring to the arrest of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) youth leader Nirajan Bam for burning his portrait. Bam had burnt Dahal’s portrait during an event in Hetauda on Saturday.
Bam was arrested by the police from Bharatpur Airport in Chitwan.
