Issuing a statement, the NOC said a meeting of its Board of Directors made the decision on Sunday.

With the fresh revision, petrol will retail at Rs 157 per liter in Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara, and Dipayal, among other hilly cities, and Rs 156 per liter in inner-Madhesh districts like Surkhet and Dang. Likewise, it will cost Rs 155 per liter in cities near the Indian border like Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Bhalwari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj.

The new prices will come into effect from Sunday midnight.

According to the NOC, it raised the price in line with the new price rates of petroleum products for the next 15 days forwarded by its sole supplier, the Indian Oil Corporation, on Sunday afternoon.
