No talks yet with NC on new coalition formation: Oli

KATHMANDU: While rumors circulate about the CPN-UML’s offer to support the Nepali Congress (NC) in forming a new government, UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has clarified that the UML has not had any discussions with the NC regarding government formation.

“We have not made an offer to the NC, nor has the NC made an offer to us,” Oli stated during an interaction with journalists at Bharatpur Airport on Thursday. “I am hearing about this from you.”

Some leaders from the UML and NC have mentioned that talks for the formation of a new coalition are underway. The recent formation of the Socialist Front by four coalition members, bypassing the Nepali Congress (NC), has added to the speculation.

When asked about the controversy surrounding the golden Jalahari offered to the Pashupatinath Temple, Oli stated that the matter does not concern him directly. “As the head of the government, I only decided to release funds to the Pashupati Area Development Trust,” he clarified.

Oli is in Chitwan to participate in National Paddy Day celebration on Friday.
