KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that there were no plans to remove Inspector General of Nepal Police Basanta Bahadur Kunwar.
Talking to the media at Bharatpur Airport on Monday, Dahal clarified that there will be no change in the police force. “I held a meeting with the heads of all three security agencies a few days ago and told them that there will be no changes and that they should work without any worries,” Dahal said.
Rumors had spread that the government was preparing to remove Kunwar because of his role in the fake Bhutanese refugee case.
Commenting on the fate of the ruling coalition, Dahal said there will be no change in government. “Ministers of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) often say that they have resignation letters in their pocket. They have been saying that since Day 1,” Dahal said. “From what I understand, there is nothing like that.”
