ITAHARI: Nepali Congress (NC) has said that it won’t give a vote of confidence to Koshi Province Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki.
A meeting of the NC Parliamentary Party in Koshi Province Assembly held in Biratnagar on Friday took the decision.
Chief Minister Karki, who was appointed to the post on September 8, must get a vote of confidence in the Koshi Province Assembly by October 7.
Bhupendra Rai, chief whip of NC in Koshi Province Assembly, said the meeting also decided to request ministries in the province to not implement the budget brought unilaterally by the UML government by issuing an ordinance. According to Rai, the meeting also discussed the possibility of the formation of a consensus government as per Article 168 (5) and the party’s role in government formation if Karki fails the floor test.
