Nine injured as three vehicles collide in Nawalparasi East

KATHMANDU: At least nine people were injured in a road accident involving a passenger bus, a truck, and an SUV in Nawalparasi East on Monday.

The incident occurred near Hanuman Temple along the East-West Highway in Gaidakot Municipality–9. The passenger bus, en route to Kathmandu from Nepalgunj, collided with the SUV and the truck coming from the opposite direction.

According to the Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal, seven of the 35 passengers on board the bus sustained injuries. The drivers of the SUV and the truck were also injured.

Security personnel deployed from APF Nepal’s No. 31 Battalion in East Nawalparasi carried out rescue operations and transported the injured to a medical facility in Chitwan for treatment, said APF Nepal Joint Spokesperson DSP Shailendra Thapa.

Of the injured, six have already been discharged after treatment, while three are still under medical care. Their condition is said to be stable.
