Night travel prohibited on BP Highway for two days

KATHMANDU: The local administration of Sindhuli has prohibited vehicular traffic along the BP Highway and the Mid-Hills Highway during the night hours till Friday due to the risk of floods and landslides triggered by continuous rainfall.

The District Administration Office, Sindhuli, issued a notice on Thursday, urging the public not to operate vehicles at night for two days.

“Vehicular movement from Sindhuli toward Kathmandu via the BP Highway is prohibited from 5 pm to 5 am on Thursday and Friday,” reads a notice issued by the local administration.

According to the notice, vehicles will be stopped at Khurkot Bazaar during the restriction period. “Vehicles may also be halted at any location in coordination with the security agencies if heavy rainfall occurs during the day,” it added.
