KATHMANDU: The new Rs 100 bill will feature the new political map unveiled by the government three years ago.
A cabinet meeting held on Thursday approved the new design of the Rs 100 bill, according to Government Spokesperson and Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Rekha Sharma.
The new banknote will replace the old map on the front part of the banknote with a new map showing the Lipu Lek, Limpiyadhura and Kalapani regions currently under Indian occupation.
The government unveiled a new political map on May 20, 2020, in response to the unveiling of a new map by India which included Kalapani within its borders.
