KATHMANDU: The swearing-in ceremony of newly appointed ministers has been scheduled for 2 pm on Monday.

Prime Minister Sushila Karki on Sunday recommended to President Ram Chandra Paudel to appoint Anil Kumar Sinha, Mahabir Pun, Madan Pariyar, Sangeeta Kaushal Mishra and Jagdish Kharel as ministers in his cabinet.

However, sources at the Office of the President said it is still uncertain whether Mishra would be sworn in on Monday, as questions have been raised about her recommendation.

According to sources at the Prime Minister’s residence, four ministers could be sworn in on Monday as Prime Minister Karki is likely to keep Mishra’s recommendation on hold.

Sinha is set to oversee two portfolios—the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, and the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, while Kharel will take charge of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.

Similarly, Pariyar will be appointed as the Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development and Dr Pun as the Minister for Education, Science and Technology.

Likewise, Dr Mishra was recommended for appointment as the Minister for Health and Population.
