KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) recorded a gain of 10.26 points to end trading at 2,104.72 points on Monday.
Share prices of 150 companies went up on the day, while 86 declined, and 11 remained unchanged. Likewise, the share prices of three companies hit the positive circuit of 10% on the day. Himalayan Reinsurance Company Ltd recorded the highest turnover of the day with Rs 601.67 million worth of shares traded. Next on the list were Ngadi Group Power Ltd and Hathway Investment Nepal Investment Ltd with turnovers of Rs 238.35 million and Rs 128.76 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, three sub-indices reported losses, while others closed the day with gains. The ‘Others’ index posted the highest gain of 1.64%. The Hydropower and Investment sub-indices were next with gains of 1.08% and 0.98%, respectively. Market heavyweight Banking sub-index posted a nominal decline of 0.06%.
Shares worth Rs 4.56 billion were traded on the bourse on Monday through 103,153 transactions.
