Nepse up 6.37 points; shares worth Rs 5.89 billion traded

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) posted a gain of 6.37 points and closed trading at 2,121.62 points on Wednesday.

Share prices of 119 companies advanced on the day, while 115 declined and 13 remained unchanged. Share prices of four companies hit the positive circuit of 10%. NRN Infrastructure and Development Ltd registered the highest turnover of the session, with shares worth Rs 276.36 million traded. Next were CEDB Hydropower Development Company Ltd and Greenlife Hydropower Company Ltd with turnovers of Rs 244.84 million and Rs 199.50 million, respectively.

Among trading groups, four sub-indices posted losses, while nine ended the day in the green. The Finance index posted the highest gain of 1.07%, while the Hydropower sub-index posted the biggest loss of 0.61%.

Shares worth Rs 5.89 billion changed hands through 74,858 transactions on Wednesday.
