KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index posted a nominal gain of 5.6 points and closed trading at 2,071.77 points on Tuesday.
This is the second straight session that the benchmark index has ended trading in the green. Nepse index went up by 3.21 points on Monday.
Share prices of 151 companies advanced on the day, while 88 declined and eight remained unchanged. Unit prices of two scrips hit the positive circuit of 10% during the session.
RSDC Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha recorded the highest turnover of the session with shares worth Rs 148.30 million traded. NRN Infrastructure and Development Ltd was next with turnovers of Rs 126.23 million and Rs 96.96 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, three posted losses, while 10 ended the session in the green. The biggest loss came from the Finance sub-index which fell by 2.15%. Investment sub-index posted the biggest gain of 1.7%, followed by Hydropower and Hotels & Tourism sub-indices which were up by 1.18% and 1.12%, respectively.
A total of 9.53 million units of shares worth Rs 4.18 billion were traded on the bourse on Tuesday.
