KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index logged gains of 39.70 points, closing trading at 2,756.36 points on Wednesday.
Share prices of 200 companies advanced during the session, while 38 declined and six remained unchanged. Likewise, unit prices of seven scrips hit the positive circuit of 10% on Wednesday. Janaki Finance Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session with Rs 340.11 million worth of shares traded. NRN Infrastructure & Development and Peoples Hydropower Company Ltd were next with turnovers of Rs 331.63 million and Rs 247.29 million.
All trading groups, except Finance which logged a nominal loss, posted gains on Wednesday. The biggest gain came from the Trading sub-index which was up by 9.27%. Development Bank and Life Insurance followed with gains of 3.18% and 2.81%, respectively.
Securities worth Rs 9.31 billion were traded on the bourse through 89,000 transactions. Market capitalization reached Rs 4.57 trillion compared to Rs 4.32 trillion on Tuesday.
