KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index closed 31.12 points higher at 2,672.55 points on Sunday, supported by broad-based buying across sectors.
The benchmark index opened on a positive note and remained largely in the green throughout the trading session to eventually close 1.17% higher.
Unit prices of 224 scrips advanced during the session, while 31 declined, and five remained unchanged. Total turnover stood at Rs 8.40 billion—the highest since September 21 last year—with 16.61 million units traded through 95,445 transactions.
Four scrips hit the positive circuit of 10% during the session. Manjushree Finance Ltd logged the highest turnover with Rs 531.6 million worth of shares traded. SY Panel Ltd and Shreenagar Agroitech Industries Ltd were next with turnovers of Rs 373.96 million and Rs 284.57 million, respectively.
All trading groups closed in the green territory on Sunday. The Finance sub-index posted the highest gain of 5.73%. Development Bank and Manufacturing & Processing sub-indices followed with gains of 3.03% and 2.42%, respectively.
