KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) began the first trading day of 2082 BS on a positive note, closing 27.14 points higher at 2,689.22 points on Tuesday.
Unit prices of 212 companies advanced during the session, while 34 declined. Balephi Hydropower Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session with Rs 2.01 billion worth of shares traded. Next were NRN Infrastructure & Development and Radhi Bidyut Company Ltd with turnovers of Rs 422.23 million and Rs 362.20 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, two – Mutual Fund and Trading sub-indices – posted nominal losses, while 11 others ended the session in the green. Investment sub-index posted the highest gain of 2.71%. Next were Development and Hotels & Tourism sub-indices with gains of 2.46% and 1.99%, respectively.
Total turnover increased to Rs 8.54 billion on Monday with 21.84 million units of shares traded through 69,364 transactions.
