KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index continued its winning run for a third straight session, as the benchmark index posted a gain of 24.39 points to end trading at 1,998.89 points on Monday.
Share prices of 148 companies advanced on the day while 85 declined and 11 remained unchanged. Eight out of 13 trading groups posted gains on the day. Banking sub-index logged the biggest gains of 3.21%, while Investment and Others sub-indices were up by 2.04% and 0.88%, respectively.
Nepal Reinsurance Company Ltd (Promoter Shares) logged the highest turnover of the session with shares worth Rs 308 million traded. Next were CEDB Hydropower Development Company Ltd and Karnali Development Bank Ltd with turnovers of Rs 282.34 million and Rs 93.22 million traded.
Shares worth Rs 3.4 billion were traded on the bourse on Monday through 45,828 transactions.
