KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index went up by 14.33 points, closing the first trading session of the week at 1,980.27 points on Sunday.
Share prices of 180 companies went up on the day, while 55 declined, and nine remained unchanged. Pokhara Finance Ltd logged the highest turnover of the day with shares worth Rs 130.59 million traded. Next were Multipurpose Finance Company Ltd and People’s Power Company Ltd with turnovers of Rs 109.93 million and Rs 98.54 million, respectively.
The Nepse index had recorded a loss of 3.24 points in the previous trading session on Thursday.
Among trading groups, except for the Trading sub-index which recorded nominal losses, all other sub-indices posted gains. The biggest gains came from the Finance group which was up by 3.98%. Next on the list were the Development Bank and Microfinance sub-indices which were up by 2.23% and 1.4%, respectively.
Shares worth Rs 2.68 billion were traded on the bourse through 48,183 transactions on the day.
