KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index bounced back after Tuesday’s loss, posting a 108.35-point gain to close trading at 2,759.67 points on Wednesday.
The benchmark index had gone down by 145.05 points on Tuesday.
Share prices of 239 companies advanced, while three declined during the session. Unit prices of 10 companies hit the positive circuit of 10% on Wednesday. Himalayan Reinsurance Company Ltd continued to log the highest turnover of the session with shares worth Rs 1.53 billion traded. Next were Nepal Finance Ltd and Sanima Mai Hydropower Company Ltd with turnovers of Rs 655.59 million and Rs 557.39 million, respectively.
All the trading groups posted gains on the day. The biggest gains came from the Others sub-index which was up by 7.89%. Next were the Finance and Hydropower sub-indices with gains of 7.63% and 5.52%, respectively.
Daily turnover, however, fell by nearly Rs 6 billion during the session as Rs 17.95 billion worth of shares were traded on the bourse on Wednesday.
