Nepse tanks 33.08 points on last trading day of 2024

KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) tanked 33.08 points on Tuesday, closing the last trading day of the year at 2,576.50 points.

The benchmark index started sliding right after trading began and eventually ended the session 1.26% lower.

Unit prices of 213 scrips declined during the session, while 28 advanced and three remained unchanged. Prabhu Bank Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session with Rs 359.49 million worth of shares traded. Next were Nepal Finance Ltd and Janaki Finance Ltd with turnovers of Rs 178.73 million and Rs 144.27 million, respectively.

Among trading groups, except for the Others sub-index, which posted a meager 0.06% gain, all other sub-indices ended the session in red. The Finance sub-index logged the biggest loss of 5.19%. Next was the Trading and Development Bank sub-indices with losses of 2.97% and 2.77%, respectively.

Daily turnover on the bourse reached Rs 5.67 billion on Tuesday, with 13.17 million units of shares traded through 69,923 transactions.
