KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) snapped a two-day winning streak, gaining 19.7 points to close trading at 2,851.09 points. The benchmark index lost 118.77 points over those two sessions.
Although the index had initially dropped, falling below the psychological support level of 2,800 points to an intraday low of 2,790.04 points, it gained momentum as the session progressed to eventually close 0.69% higher.
Unit prices of 195 advanced, while 63 declined and nine remained unchanged. Total turnover stood at Rs 11.11 billion, with 27.94 million units traded through 137,857 transactions.
Five scrips hit the positive circuit of 10% during the session, while Saptakoshi Development Bank Ltd posted the biggest loss of 8.96%.
Among individual scrips, Ridi Power Company Ltd logged the highest turnover of Rs 484.84 million. Next were Api Power Company and NRN Infrastructure and Development with gains of Rs 403.89 million and Rs 378.73 million, respectively.
Toward sectoral indices, two posted nominal losses while the remaining 11 closed the session in the green. The biggest gain came from the Manufacturing & Processing sub-index, which closed 1.94% higher. Next were Finance and Hotels & Tourism sub-indices with gains of 1.12% and 1%, respectively.
