KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) snapped its three-day losing run, posting a nominal gain of 3.27 points on Tuesday.
Although the benchmark index moved into negative territory, hitting an intraday low of 2,569.29 points, it recovered all its losses and eventually ended the session 0.12% higher.
Despite the gain, total turnover fell slightly to Rs 3.42 billion with 7.66 million units traded across 92,746 transactions.
Unit prices of 134 scrips advanced during the session, while 117 declined and eight remained unchanged. SY Panel topped the turnover chart with Rs 309.81 million worth of shares traded. Next were Sagar Distilery and CEDB Holdings Ltd with turnovers of Rs 85.34 million and Rs 74.37 million, respectively.
Toward sectoral indices, seven posted gains while the remaining ended the session in the red. Life-insurance posted the biggest loss of 0.79%, while the Others sub-index logged the biggest increase of 1.28%.
