
KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) snapped a six-day losing streak, closing 26.10 points higher at 2,640.78 on Monday.
Despite the day’s gain, the Nepse index has shed 95.7 points over the period. This marks only the second time in the past 15 sessions that Nepse ended in the green.
During the session, share prices of 210 scrips advanced, while 33 declined. Himalayan Reinsurance Company Ltd recorded the highest turnover with Rs 326.97 million worth of shares traded. Next were CEDB Holdings Ltd and Nepal Reinsurance Company Ltd with turnovers of Rs 152.92 million and Rs 129.62 million, respectively.
All trading groups closed in positive territory, with the Finance sub-index leading gains (up 3.52%), followed by Others (1.5%) and Life Insurance (1.46%).
Total turnover dropped to Rs 4.48 billion on Monday, with 9.73 million units traded across 58,235 transactions.
