KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index snapped a five-day losing streak, closing 6.54 points higher at 2,683.86 points on Tuesday.
Daily turnover also improved slightly to Rs 7.24 billion compared to Rs 6.86 billion on Monday.
Unit prices of 134 scrips advanced during the session, while 98 declined and 11 remained unchanged. CEDB Holding Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session with Rs 368.18 million worth of shares traded. Next were Nyadi Hydropower Ltd and Upper Modi Hydropower Ltd with turnovers of Rs 351.12 million and Rs 217.76 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, five posted gains while the remaining eight ended the session in the red. The biggest gain came from the Development Bank sub-index, which rose by 2.37%. On the other hand, the Trading sub-index posted the biggest loss of 1.05%.
A total of 13.96 million units of securities were traded on the bourse on Tuesday through 72,094 transactions.
