KATHMANDU: The market observed some corrections after five straight days of gains as the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) went down by 22.14 points to close trading at 2,109.34 points on Sunday.
Share prices of 215 companies declined during the session, while 29 advanced and three remained unchanged. IME Life Insurance Company Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session with Rs 156.61 million worth of shares traded. Next were CEDB Hydropower Company Ltd and First Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd with turnovers of Rs 153.12 million and Rs 148.18 million, respectively.
Two sub-indices posted gains on the day while 11 others ended the day in the red. The highest gain came from the Hotels & Tourism sub-index which was up by 3.37%. Similarly, the Finance sub-index posted the biggest loss of 2.19% followed by the Microfinance and Hydropower sub-indices which were down by 1.78% and 1.62%, respectively.
Shares worth Rs 4.44 billion were traded on the bourse on Sunday, while market capitalization reached Rs 3.34 trillion.
