KATHMANDU: The stock market saw some correction after a whirlwind session on Monday as the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) fell 70.31 points lower to end trading at 2,007.69 points on Tuesday.
Trading ended prematurely on Monday as the benchmark Nepse index went up by 6% in just five minutes of trading.
Share prices of 213 declined on Tuesday, while 33 advanced and two remained unchanged. Sonapur Minerals & Oil Ltd logged the highest turnover of the day with shares worth Rs 419.12 million traded. Shivam Cement and Ghorahi Cement Industry Ltd followed with turnovers of Rs 246.5 million and Rs 143.17 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, all trading groups, except Mutual Fund, ended the day in the red. The biggest loss came from the Hydropower sub-index, which was down by 4.3%. Next were Manufacturing & Processing and Development Bank with losses of 4.25% and 3.655%, respectively.
Shares worth Rs 4.11 billion were traded on the bourse on Tuesday, while market capitalization reached Rs 3.15 trillion.
