KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index settled in the green territory on the last trading before the Dashain holiday, posting a nominal gain of 4.85 points to 2,668.17 points on Wednesday.
Share prices of 130 companies advanced during the session, while 102 declined and 11 remained unchanged. Nepal Finance Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session with Rs 220.15 million worth of shares traded. Next were Sanima Bank Ltd and Himalayan Reinsurance Ltd with turnovers of Rs 189.86 million and Rs 157.28 million, respectively.
Three trading groups posted losses, while 10 ended the session in red. The biggest gain came from the Manufacturing & Processing sub-index, which was up by 1.08%, while the Trading sub-index suffered the biggest loss of 0.65%.
Turnover fell to Rs 3.76 billion through 40,131 transactions on Wednesday.
