KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index ended the trading session with a negligible gain of 0.47 points, closing at 2,655.85 on Sunday.
Although the benchmark index posted a double-digit gain initially, the market erased most of its gains as the session progressed. Unit prices of 90 scrips advanced during the session, while 157 declined. A total of 25.39 million shares were traded across 95,374 transactions, generating a total turnover of Rs 11.44 billion.
Sanima Mai Hydropower Ltd posted the highest turnover of the session with Rs 890.10 million worth of shares traded. Ngadi Group Power Ltd and Butwal Power Company Ltd were next with turnovers of Rs 872.09 million and Rs 646.09 million, respectively.
Sectoral performance was mixed, with five trading groups posting gains and eight ending in the red. The Trading group led the gainers with a 1.08% increase, while the Investment group was the highest loser, going down by 0.76%.
