KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index inched higher on Wednesday, ending the session up by 4.59 points to close at 2,640.54.
The market witnessed mixed trading throughout the day but managed to settle in positive territory by the close. Unit prices of 129 scrips advanced, 115 declined, while 15 remained unchanged, reflecting a slightly positive market breadth.
A total of Rs 4.90 billion worth of shares were traded on the bourse, with 10.43 million shares traded through 69,261 transactions.
SY Panel Nepal Ltd led the turnover chart with transactions worth Rs 200.63 million. Bandipur Cablecar & Tourism and Sanvi Energy Ltd followed with turnovers of Rs 176.06 million and Rs 158.96 million, respectively.
Among sectoral indices, six ended the session in the red, while the remaining seven inched higher. The biggest loss came from the Finance sub-index, which declined by 0.44%. Similarly, Manufacturing & Processing posted the biggest gain of 0.49%.
