KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) posted a gain of 45.69 points and closed the first trading session of the week at 2,064.45 points on Sunday.
The market posted healthy gains in the pre-opening session and continued the momentum throughout the day to end trading 2.26% higher.
The strong gain in the benchmark index shows investors have welcomed the changes in the third-quarter review of monetary policy for fiscal year 2023/24. Nepal Rastra Bank unveiled the third quarter review of Monetary Policy for 2023/24 on Friday.
Share prices of 229 companies advanced on the day, while 46 declined. All the sub-indices posted gains on the day, led by Life and Non-Life Insurance sub-indices.
Shares worth Rs 5.25 billion were traded on the bourse on Sunday through 74,999 transactions.
