Nepse loses again; turnover rises to Rs 5.63 billion

KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) closed 5.57 points lower at 2,670.70 points on Thursday — the last trading day of the week.

Out of four trading sessions this week, the benchmark index logged a marginal gain on Wednesday only. The index shed 32.69 points over the week.

Unit prices of 114 scrips advanced during the session, while 131 declined and one remained unchanged.

Although the benchmark index closed lower on Thursday, total turnover improved to Rs 5.63 billion, with 11.38 million units of scrips traded through 49,632 transactions.

Radhi Bidyut Company Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session with Rs 359.47 million worth of shares traded. Next were NRN Infrastructure & Development and Himalayan Reinsurance Ltd, with turnovers of Rs 352.91 million and Rs 305.04 million, respectively.

Among trading groups, four posted nominal gains and nine ended the session in the red.
