KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index closed 15.08 points lower at 1,631.98 points on Tuesday.
Alongside the benchmark index, the transaction volume also declined during the session as Rs 7.57 billion worth of shares were traded on Tuesday, compared to Rs 8.91 billion on Monday. Both turnover volume and number of transactions fell on Tuesday.
Share prices of 188 companies declined during the session, while 57 advanced. Sanima Mai Hdyropower Ltd logged the highest turnover on Tuesday with Rs 824.37 million worth of shares traded. Ngadi Group Power Ltd and Radhi Bidyut Company Ltd were next with turnovers of Rs 621.67 million and Rs 464.41 million, respectively.
All trading groups, except the Mutual Fund, which posted a nominal gain, ended the session in the red. The biggest loss came from the Finance sub-index, which was down by 1.22%.
