Nepse logs nominal loss of 7.24 points

KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) registered a nominal loss of 7.24 points and closed the week’s last trading session at 2,155.82 points.

The market opened for trading with the Nepse index at 2,163.39 points. After a tumultuous session when the benchmark index moved between green and red trajectory, the benchmark index eventually ended the day 0.33% lower.

Share prices of 133 companies declined on the day, while 112 advanced and two remained unchanged. Five companies saw their share prices hit the positive circuit of 10%. Himalayan Reinsurance Ltd logged the highest turnover of the day with Rs 1.88 billion worth of shares traded. Next on the list were Sonapur Minerals & Oil Ltd and Ngadi Group Power Ltd with turnovers of Rs 301.88 million and Rs 234.94 million, respectively.

Among trading groups, sub-indices of three trading groups posted gains, while others ended the day in the red. The biggest loss came from Hotels & Tourism sub-index which was down by 1.42%, while Others sub-index posted the biggest gain of 1.3%

Shares worth Rs 8.17 billion were traded on the bourse through 304,023 transactions.
