Nepse logs gains of 18.45 points

KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) ended a two-day losing run and posted a gain of 18.45 points to close trading at 2,022.91 points on Tuesday.

The market opened for trading at 2,006.54 points and immediately embraced the upward trajectory. The bourse continued the momentum throughout the day to end the day 0.92% higher.

Share prices of 190 companies increased on the day while 39 declined and three remained unchanged.

Among trading groups, all sub-indices, except Hotels & Tourism which fell by a nominal 0.18%, posted gains. The Hydropower sub-index posted the highest gains of 3.09%, while Finance and Life Insurance sub-indices were up by 1.44% and 1.25%, respectively.

NIC Asia Bank logged the highest turnover of the day with Rs 83.46 million worth of shares traded. Followingly closely were Sun Nepal Life Insurance and Reliance Nepal Life Insurance with turnovers of Rs 75.36 million and Rs 71.34 million, respectively.

A total of 8.70 million units of shares worth Rs 2.09 billion were traded on the bourse on Tuesday.
