Nepse gains 9.09 points; turnover falls to Rs 7.09 billion

KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index logged a nominal gain of 9.09 points, closing trading at 2,711.75 points on Wednesday.

Although the benchmark index fell to an intraday low of 2,684.47 points during initial trading, it recovered and posted marginal gains. Share prices of 143 companies advanced during the session, while 89 declined, and 11 remained unchanged. Share prices of five companies hit the positive circuit of 10%.

Ngadi Group Power Ltd logged the session’s highest turnover, with Rs 328.19 million worth of shares traded. Next were Janaki Finance Ltd and Nepal Finance Ltd, with turnovers of Rs 322.05 million and Rs 232.27 million, respectively.

Among trading groups, five posted losses, while eight ended the session with gains. The biggest gain came from the Development Bank sub-index, which was up by 3.38%. Next were the Finance and Hydropower sub-indices, with gains of 1.66% and 1.28%, respectively.

Daily turnover fell to Rs 7.09 billion on Wednesday, compared to Rs 10.27 billion on Tuesday.
