Nepse gains 64.26 points as turnover hits record high of Rs 21.91 billion

KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index logged gains of 64.26 points to close trading at 2,760.91 points on Wednesday. The bourse recorded an all-time high turnover of Rs 21.91 billion on the day.

Share prices of 191 companies advanced during the session, while 44 declined and seven remained unchanged. Unit prices of 10 companies hit the positive circuit of 10% on the day. Himalayan Reinsurance Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session with shares worth Rs 844.99 million traded. Next on the list were Mountain Energy Nepal Ltd and Shivam Cement with turnovers of Rs 410.93 million and Rs 402.63 million, respectively.

All trading groups posted gains on the day. The biggest gain came from the Finance sub-index which was up by 8.08%. Next were Investment and Others sub-indices with gains of 6.89% and 3.99%, respectively.

A total of 50.96 million units of shares were traded on the bourse through 238,272 transactions. Market capitalization reached Rs 4.38 trillion on Wednesday.
