Nepse gains 25.66 points

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) recorded a gain of 25.66 points to close trading at 1,927.65 points on Tuesday.

The market opened at 1,902.75 points. Although the index initially fell below the 1,900-point mark, it recovered and eventually closed 1.35% higher.

While the prices of 185 scrips increased on the day, 31 saw a decline in their unit prices. Similarly, the price of four scrips remained unchanged.

All trading groups ended the day in green, with the Hotels & Tourism sub-index posting the highest growth of 5.67%. Close behind were the Non-life Insurance and Hydropower sub-indices, which were up by 4.64% and 3.15%, respectively.

Soaltee Hotels Limited recorded the highest turnover of the day, with 284,955 units of shares from the hospitality company worth Rs 96.87 million traded. Next on the list were Shivam Cement and Upper Tamakoshi Hydroelectric Company Ltd, with turnovers of Rs 91.76 million and Rs 85.67 million, respectively.

A total of 5.5 million units of shares worth Rs 1.98 billion were traded in the secondary market on the day.
