KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index posted gains of 19.97 points, closing trading at 2,758.04 points on Monday.
Share prices of 126 companies advanced during the session, while 111 declined and seven remained unchanged. Nepal Finance Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session with Rs 594.75 million worth of shares traded. Ngadi Group Power Ltd and Janaki Finance Ltd were next with turnovers of Rs 488.98 million and Rs 275.13 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, four posted losses, while nine ended the session in red. the biggest gain came from the Trading sub-index which was up by 9.7%. The Hotels & Tourism sub-index and Life Insurance sub-indices were next with gains of 4.99% and 1.91%, respectively.
Securities worth Rs 10.54 billion were traded on the bourse through 103,481 transactions. Market capitalization reached Rs 4.57 trillion.
