KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index posted gains of 15.83 points, closing trading at 2,683.24 points on Monday.
Although the benchmark index plummeted right after trading began, it recovered and ultimately ended the session 0.59% higher.
Share prices of 169 companies went up on Monday, while 67 declined and nine remained unchanged. Ngadi Group Power Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session with Rs 540.75 million worth of shares traded. Next were Best Finance Company Ltd and Nepal Finance Ltd, with turnovers of Rs 252.96 million and Rs 203.1 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, two posted losses, while 11 others ended the session in the green. The biggest gain came from the Finance sub-index, which was up 2.27%. Next were Others and Non-Life Insurance sub-indices, with gains of 1.38% and 1.27%, respectively.
Shares worth Rs 6.34 billion changed hands on the bourse through 65,824 transactions on Monday.
