KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) logged a nominal gain of 14.11 points, closing trading at 2,626.31 points on Tuesday.
Although the benchmark index posted healthy gains during early trading, reaching an intra-day high of 2,645.2 points, it shed most of the gains and eventually ended the session 0.54% higher.
Share prices of 168 companies advanced during the session, while 70 declined and six remained unchanged. Janaki Finance Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session with Rs 200.74 million worth of shares traded. Next were Joshi Hydropower Development Company and Nepal Finance Ltd with turnovers of Rs 192.72 million and Rs 95.21 million, respectively.
Except for manufacturing & Processing and Trading sub-indices, all other trading groups posted gains on the day. Development Bank sub-index posted the highest gain of 1.75%. Finance and Hotels & Tourism sub-indices were next with gains of 1.62% and 0.94%, respectively.
Securities worth Rs 5.2 billion were traded in the bourse through 64,917 transactions on Tuesday.
